CHOICE - Increasing young people's motivation to choose STEM careers through an Innovative Cross-disciplinary STE(A)M approach to education
Learning objectives:
The learning objectives of this project were:
to boost young people’s interest in STEM subjects and careers, thereby contributing to a workforce capable of addressing complex societal challenges.
to engage teachers and students in a cross-disciplinary, bottom-up learning process that promotes innovative pedagogies integrating STEM with non-STEM subjects.
to foster coordination and collaboration among educational institutions, businesses, and local authorities to support STEM curriculum reform and guide students in making informed career choices.
to encourage transnational cooperation and mutual learning among education institutions, advancing innovative STE(A)M approaches to create a systemic impact on education systems.
The CHOICE project aims to enhance STEM education through innovative Open Educational Resources (OERs) on a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform.
Targeting students, teachers, schools, higher education institutions, and business experts, CHOICE seeks to improve teaching practices, student engagement, and the overall quality of STEM education. Through a STE(A)M approach, the project integrates STEM with non-STEM subjects to spark interest in STEM fields and prepare students for future careers.
The CHOICE MOOC offers five (5) modules created by educators, students, and experts, covering areas such as STEM & Arts, experiential projects, and using technology in social sciences, to provide a comprehensive and interactive learning experience for all stakeholders.
